I originally created this recipe for my Dad, who was diabetic but loved his barbecue. The key ingredients are the low-carb ketchup, and brown-sugar Splenda.
Ingredients
12oztomato paste
6ozwater
1teaspoononion powder
1tablespoonMcCormick® Granulated Garlic
½cupred wine vinegar
2tablespoonsWorcestershire sauce
½teaspoondry mustard
1tablespoonground ginger
1teaspoonfresh lemon juice
½sticksweet cream butter
1cupSplenda Brown Sugar Blend (or Brown Sugar)
¼tablespoonsugar free maple syrup
1tablespoonFine Pink Salt
2tablespoonsred hot sauce
Instructions
Combine all ingredients and simmer 1 hour.
For roasted meats, baste onto meat during last 1/2 hour of cooking and/or serve warm at table.
