Ingredients
- 1-1/4 cups water
- 2 cups fresh blackberries
- ¼ cup Splenda Granulated Sweetener
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
- ½ teaspoon ground sage
- Optional: fresh sage leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Place all ingredients, except fresh sage leaves, into blender. Blend until smooth.
- Press mixture through fine sieve, into an 8-inch square baking dish. Discard solids.
- Cover and freeze, stirring and crushing lumps with a fork every 1/2 hour, for a total of 3 hours. Stirring is very important to prevent the mixture from freezing into a solid, frozen lump. The texture should be ice crystals.
- Serve immediately in chilled glasses, and garnish with fresh sage leaves if desired.
Spa Index Kitchen Notes
This is an excellent base for other more adult libations, such as a drizzle of tequila (just a teaspoon will do), and using lime juice in the base, and then a wedge of lime for a "Blackberry Margarita Sorbet."
