Mynd Spa Salon Closed – Gift Card Exchange

MYND SPA SALON CLOSED

Day spa pioneer, Elizabeth Arden, opened her first spa location in 1910 and it became a symbol of beauty around the world.

In 2019, her brand of Red Door Salons & Spas were reborn as Mynd Spas & Salons.

Sadly, less than year later, all Mynd Spa Salon locations were shuttered permanently, following bankruptcy proceedings.

FOR INFORMATION ON GIFT-CARD EXCHANGE OFFERS

  • Spa Index Guide to Spas has never and does not ever sell, buy or exchange gift cards or gift certificates — for this, or any other brand.  We will update this post, however,  if we learn of offers or methods to redeem your purchased gift certificates.  Sadly, this one was such a S-Storm that few merchants are willing to take on the enormous population of cheated former clients and customers, by honoring discounts at any level.

CURRENT OFFERS

Another brand drops and then we’re supposed to spend more money using gift cards as a discount on spending more money. “Better than nothing” isn’t exactly “fair.”

  2. Jaunita S says:

Not a great option, but better than nothing, and better than what the spa did, which was zero point zero. Please update as soon you hear anything else.

Hello, after reading this post i am a bit less angry for an option but still mad. Thanks. I have to remember to stop buying specific gift cards for business that are not like 100 years old, and maybe not even then. They don’t take care of us after they fail. It should be a criminal offense honestly, to sell gift cards and then not give refunds — even if you have to sell your damn furniture and house and your car. You didn’t earn the money yet, so you didn’t have the right to spend it. Maybe all gift card money should be held in a special escrow like an interest bearing trust account that lawyers are required to have, don’t you think? lawyers can’t spend your money before they’ve billed it / earned it, and gift cards should be the same. Money in trust / escrow.

I’m not they can blame this on the pandemic, they were already in trouble at the get-go, but the shut down didn’t help. This was a brand for the ages, important in spa history, they update and change — and ::poof::. Gone. So gee, thanks, Mynd Spa. But thank you spa index for finding this alternative.

I agree. I worked at one of these locations. The pandemic had literally nothing to do with the mishandling of everything, top to bottom, and overzealous rebranding and spending. Yes, everyone who lost money on gift cards was a horrible victim. And so was everyone like me, who lost jobs, back-back, holiday pay. We were ALL affected, and Mynd conveniently has a pandemic to shift some of the blame away. This would have happened even without the pandemic. These people took a 100 year old iconic name and brand in the industry and messed it up in less than a year. I wish E.A. R.D. had just CLOSED if they couldn’t keep up their brand any longer — and helped us find jobs and paid our wages and our commissions and our holiday pay, and then not challenged our unemployment claims. SPA INDEX: PLEASE TAKE OUT MY USER NAME AND I.P. ADDRESS IF POSSIBLE.
