This ice milk, with only 4 ingredients, relies on a carton of chocolate almond milk to get started. It is a popular flavor combination, and may be made in an ice cream maker or frozen into pops.
Ingredients
- 1 32-ounce box fortified chocolate almond milk, chilled
- 2 tablespoons instant coffee or espresso powder
- 2-3 tablespoons Splenda Sugar Blend (or granulated sugar) - to taste
- 1 cup slivered almonds - roasted
- 1 tablespoon cocoa - dutch process or dark - optional
Instructions
- Whisk together 1/2 cup almond milk, instant coffee or espresso powder in a large bowl, to dissolve powder completely. Whisk in remaining almond milk and sugar to taste. Add up to a tablespoon of dark cocoa powder if you need more intense flavor.
- Let sugar dissolve, and then freeze according to ice cream machine’s instructions, adding almonds when mixture is nearly frozen.
- Or, divide mixture among waxed paper cups and cover each with plastic cling film; poke a wooden craft stick through plastic and freeze to serve as pops.
