I recently visited Woodhouse Day Spa in Lexington, KY, and had an exceptional experience. The staff was incredibly friendly, the facility was clean and upscale, and all the services I received—massage, mani/pedi, and facial—were fantastic. Overall, a great visit. Highly recommended!
HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT - DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS
We purchased a $330 gift card in September for a couples massage for a birthday gift. The receiver of the gift has tried for (4) FOUR months to book a couples massage and has been told each time they did not have any openings for a couples massage. THE SPA TOLD US A LIE!!!!
In September, during 1 booking attempt, the spa told the person who received the gift they were booked up for several months, but they would call when they got an opening. Four Months And No Such Call, not even to touch base.
HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT.
Mom, who purchased the gift card, called Woodhouse Spa in Lexington this week to inquire why the gift she gave in September could not be used in the last 4 months for the couples massage, and she was told they were booked up for the next 12 months and she was treated REALLY RUDE ON THE PHONE BY A FRONT DESK STAFF.
Knowing there is not a Spa in America that books up 12 months in advance, I called the spa this morning and got someone to tell me the truth, and of course, it is not they are booked up for the last 4 months or the next 12 months -- it is staffing issues, which by the way, we fully understand HAD THEY NOT LIED TO US by claiming they were booked up.
SUMMARY - We called the location prior to buying the gift card, and they knew FULL WELL they could not provide the service we wanted YET they never mentioned it to us, but gladly took our $330.
I am not a lawyer but I think there is a legal word for selling a gift card for a specific service that you know full well you cannot provide or honor.

Today, (Sunday) when I called the very nice front desk person at this location in Lexington, I talked to (Nicole) who offered to call the location manager (Elizabeth) at home to get permission to resolve my issue and do the refund (interesting it takes a manager to provide customer service).
Anyway, Nicole called the location manager, Elizabeth, and was told to relay the message back to me that Elizabeth would return my call on Tuesday because she was off today, and she was off on Monday.
Elizabeth, the "Manager" & "Leader" of this location, had all the facts on the phone but could not give the desk clerk the OK to produce my refund.
What type of Manager/Leader tells a customer in this situation they need to wait 2 days until they get back to work when they were already being bothered on a Sunday but had all the facts?
A true "Manager" and "Leader" would use this as a teaching opportunity to grow her staff and teach them leadership showing the staff they are being treated as intelligent humans who have a brain. Which by the way would have produced a great review on every review site I can find VS this review.
GO GET BODY SERVICES BUT FOR GOSH SAKE DO NOT GET THEM FROM WOODHOUSE DAY SPA IN LEXINGTON, KY.
My husband purchased this whole package for me for a Christmas present. Which I must say was very expensive. I didn’t mind that but the treatment I got was not up to par to the money he paid for the package. Being a former spa owner I was surprised of how little time was spent on me and my services. Everything was very rushed and the only relaxing thing was the girl that did my pedicure. She spent time and was very attentive to my needs. The facial was so very rushed. She didn’t even use the steamer on me or give me a relaxing time in their room. She was very nice but didn’t get the treatment that I should had got for the price of this package. The massage was also very rushed. Didn’t even have time to relax and it was over. To sum it up I was probably given about a hour and half for the services there that day. The rest of the day they seat you in a very relaxing room to your own. I was not offer nothing else nor did anyone approach met for anything. So I left very disappointed. Also when we did a full day package we always offer lunch to our clients.. this was not even offer. All I all I would not recommend this to others to buy a full day package with Woodhouse Spa because you can’t go elsewhere and purchase the services individual and pay less. I will give this Spa a zero because it’s services alone time that was not spent on me for the price of my husband money he spent on it which was around $345.00. Not worth it guys go elsewhere.
