Woodhouse Day Spa – Greenville

My husband gave me a gift card for Christmas for a Luxury Foot Massage and a Body Balance massage. I made an appointment at the end of July for the pedicure. Be aware that this establishment takes and holds your credit card even though I was using a gift card.

I am never excited about putting my credit card on file with someone especially when the service is a gift. I was told that this is policy and is mandatory in the event of a person arriving late or not giving a 24 hr notice of cancellation, in either case, I was told, the credit card would automatically be charged a $50 fee. You must give your credit card or you can’t book the service. You will not be given a refund on your gift card, so use it or lose it. FYI, gratuities are not included unless the person buying your gift includes it.

The first person I spoke with made a snide remark about the fact that I waited so late beyond Christmas to use my gift card. In my mind, a gift is a gift and if it’s paid for, it really shouldn’t matter when I use it.

When I called to book my body massage, I asked them to look up my balance to make sure everything was taken care of prior to my arriving. I was told, I would be short $12. When I asked why, I was told there had been a price increase after my husband purchased the card. When I asked if they did not honor the original purchase, they said, “no.”

I told them I would call back. When I did call back to schedule the massage, a pleasant woman stated the $12 difference was the gratuity I used on the first visit. This made sense to me. I don’t know about you, but I’m not comfortable with people who make things up as a way of explanation, especially when it involves money and represents a supposed “high end” establishment. The first person I spoke with did not make me feel comfortable about any of it.

I would suggest you visit their website prior to booking your appointment. In a not so prominent place, under “Gift Cards”, scroll to the bottom and you will find information regarding spa cancellations, rescheduling, payments, gratuities, and gift cards. I suggest you review this information prior to booking your appointments or buying a gift card.

The facilities are nice and what you would expect. I wish them well and hope they will educate their personnel on the importance of “not winging” it.

I will use my gift card, but probably will not go back.

So relaxing. I love coming here. Everyone is so nice and the atmosphere is wonderful.

This place is a Luxurious sanctuary. One of Greenville and surrounding areas hidden Spa gems, tucked away, but quickly becoming NOT so hidden! NO wonder it's booked out days, weeks and months in advance!

Hard to find this level of Quality, Training, Refinement, Professionalism, and Incredible Empathy and Care mixed with Luxury, Ambiance, Zen and Relaxation. Pure Bliss.
