Beautiful region, extremely well decorated hotel, meticulously helpful and polite staff. Extremely high quality food. Comfortable room, large and overlooking the river. Considered by many to be the best hotel in Portugal. Luxury Spa, indoor and outdoor pools with fantastic views of the river and the Douro Valley. Management team present and sociable to welcome new guests. Will definitely return soon.
First class facilities and service make for a very memorable stay. Breakfast is a particular highlight with fresh ingredients from the garden onsite. Beds and spa facilities are terrific.
We spent 4 nights celebrating my wife's birthday at Six Senses on the Douro. Our experience was absolutely wonderful. Without exception every member of staff was outstanding and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was 1st class. The level of professionalism shown by the teams in the Spa, Dinning, Kitchen and elsewhere in the Hotel was superb. The food & beverage were marvelous. It is rare to spend 4 nights and have not one single issue or disappointment. Six Sense deserves its 5 star rating. We look forward to returning in September and enjoying the amazing atmosphere once again!
