Magdalen’s Pure Skin Care in Rockville Maryland is operated by owner Magdalen Karanja. Her passion for skin care began in her youth in Nairobi Kenya, where she read an article in Kenya’s The Daily Nation about making your own fruit and vegetable based skincare and beauty products. This early interest would later return as a career for Magdalen after she came to the United States, married, had children, traveled the World for business.
Magdalen expanded her skincare passion by extensive personal research and enrolled in skin care school. After completing her training she worked in a successful day spa for several years until it was time to open her own facility. Magdalen’s Pure Skin Care is well-regarded day spa and continually strives to provide the best possible customer experience and service.
The full spa service menu includes skin care, waxing, and spa packages to find the right service for you. Facial treatments include Acne, Anti-aging, Men’s Skin Fitness, and Teen Skin Care. Brow and Lash Tints are available. Waxing for hair removal includes Brazilian, bikini, back and chest, and whole body.

Absolutely phenomenal experience with Magdalen! She made me feel completely at ease from the moment I walked in. The space is spotless, the atmosphere is calming, and the entire process was incredibly professional, efficient, and—surprisingly—so much less painful than any waxing I’ve had before. Magdalen is truly skilled. I can’t recommend her enough and will definitely be coming back!
When you need painless and professional work, this is the place! I used to self-wax, and I can definitely see a big difference. This was my first time getting a professional Brazilian wax and underarm wax, and both took less than 20 minutes! Magdalen was incredibly fast and made the experience painless. The place is also very clean. I will definitely be returning in a few weeks and would recommend it to anyone!
Magdalen is very amazing! This was my second time getting a Brazilian Wax. The first time I got it at another retail place and did not like it. With Magdalen it was painless, fast, she is very clean and so personable, she made me feel so comfortable. She is so good ! I already booked more appointments for waxing and chemical peels and I am in the Rockville area so it’s very convenient!
