Wrought iron gates emblazoned with the Chateau’s elegant crest open to reveal the stately 9000 square foot stucco Inn, complete with a stone turret, Parisian balconies and shuttered windows, all on nine acres of meticulously landscaped park grounds. Walking paths, fountains, a swimming pool, a bocce court and a life-size chess set add to the natural cachet and charm.
Erna’s Elderberry House at the Hotel offer fine dining and hosts a seasonal Cooking School each year. Rates include classes, lodging and meals. Saturday cooking classes are also available.
We offer Full Board in the classic tradition of old Europe. This option features the evening’s accommodations, lunch upon arrival, dinner for two at Erna’s Elderberry House restaurant, and our classic European breakfast in the morning.

Perfect stay, amazing place.
Great hotel and service. We loved everything.
The Chateau de Sureau is a hidden gem in the small town of Oakhurst, quite a surprise to find this enchanting hotel with the privacy and level of service. I was in Oakhurst for business for 2 nights and decided to treat myself while working. The staff is exemplary in their service to guests, and knowing COVID 19 restricts some services (for instance the spa was not open) there was nothing I missed. After being given a brief tour and walked to my room, I asked for some coffee as I unpacked. Within minutes a wonderful small pot of coffee was brought to my room. I chose to dine in my room as I had work with me and again I was not disappointed. There is no TV, it is a place to unplug. The only challenge was the low level of internet signal. I used my phone as a hotspot as I needed to work on my computer in the evening. I look forward to a return trip while I have an Oakhurst account and look forward to using their spa services when open.
