The pools are large and fairly clean but the food is way too expensive for only so-so quality. If you are wanting a nice couples getaway, do NOT go here! Guests are primarily families with lots of kids. The pools close at 10pm with NO ADULT-ONLY HOURS -- so all you get is screaming children all night, and you'll be splashed a lot as they jump and shout and play all every the place. Also, there is NO soundproofing so if you plan on getting a restful night of sleep, think again. You can hear every person in the hall ways, in the rooms next to and across from you, and up and downstairs from your room. Nothing like going to bed at midnight after kids played in the pool until 10 pm, and then being awakened at 6am by the same screaming children and people dragging their luggage down the hallways and stairs to check out! THE DIN WAS INCREDIBLE. The spa, however, was great! For these reasons, I recommend adults treat this as a DAY TRIP to use the spa and pools, and consider it FAMILY HOUR -- not a relaxing getaway.
Our staff of old-timers recalls growing up in the 1970s and using public pools, and at certain times, the whistles would blow, and all children were ushered out of the pool to calm down, rest, have a snack, while it was Adults Swim Only -- not for a full hour. Something like 15-20 minutes of calm water. As youngsters, we remember being annoyed and waiting for the minute we could cannon-ball back into the water with no thought of splashing or annoying nearby swimmers. As adults, we long for this simple, very much needed courtesy practice, which we now have an entirely new appreciation for. It's essential, really, for children and adults alike, and we wish this courtesy policy was a common practice. -- Spa Index Team
Took a school field trip here and extended our stay an extra night because everyone was enjoying it so much. The waterslide and hot pools were the favorite places to be!
The snack shack made a killing off of the kids and the Snowies they had to order! Also enjoyed a nice massage in the spa. I recommend calling ahead of time to reserve a massage session if you want to get in, though. I only managed to snag a half hour session just before we left because of a cancellation, so I was very lucky! They were booked full for the next several days. They also have golfing and a petting zoo.
Only used the pool for grandsons, they where crowded, fully booked. Lots of people in pool and spa. Café dinning was just ok. Fairmont welcomes Boondockers nearby in an RV, that's what we did.
