Helpful Staff or Branch Name?: ALICIA

I was very happy to have been able to get a massage same day, which I didn’t think would happen. Amazed by Alicia’s work. I feel beyond rejuvenated and definitely left my stress on that massage table. Thank you so much for the great experience Alicia.

My overall experience with this place was okay. It wasn’t horrible however the website and other photos I had seen gave me really high expectations. The spa was a lot smaller than anticipated. Also note that if you are booking around this time amenities are closed which we did not find out a until the day prior to our appointment (it may have been noted on their website I can’t recall). Note that if you do get a massage they do consider it an add on if you want “more pressure ” which, after mentioning to several people,  they thought it was a strange add on.   The massage we booked was $145 so you would think it would include good pressure. They do offer complimentary drinks which is nice. However for the price that it cost to get a 1 hour massage + the add on of getting “more pressure” I’m not sure that it was worth it.

We are not accustomed to any therapist using "more pressure" as an add-on for a fee. Perhaps "more time" yes, or a different type of massage which would be priced differently, but "more pressure" is a customer stated preference in almost every spa we are familiar with. It sounds as if the therapist was interpreting your request as a request for a "deep tissue" massage which do tend to price higher due to the added exertion by the therapist. That said, expert Art Riggs has this to say: "There is a perception that the increased charge for a deep-tissue massage session is justified because the therapist is working harder; however, any extra charge for deep-tissue massage should be because the practitioner has taken advanced courses to learn new skills." ("Deep Tissue Massage: A Visual Guide to Techniques" by Art Riggs). -- Spa Index

I love this place! When I walk in I love the smell, the atmosphere, and the people! I always get my haircut and eyebrows waxed here and they do a very good job. I am always very relaxed when I go to this salon. They also have nice gift packages, it’s a little bit pricey, but it’s worth it! Taylor M., January 2007
