Listed in ALASKA

Chena Hot Springs Resort, founded over 100 years ago, has become the most developed hot springs destination in Alaska. World famous for its legendary healing mineral waters, beautiful Aurora Borealis displays in the winter, renewable energy projects and Ice Museum, Chena Hot Springs Resort is a great destination for any time of the year.

Visit Chena Hot Springs Resort and enjoy the healing mineral waters of the natural outdoor hot springs Rock Lake, outdoor hot tub, or indoor family pool.  Relax and enjoy the waters while soaking and viewing the Northern Lights above when possible.

Located scenic 60 miles outside of downtown Fairbanks, Chena Hot Springs Resort is an excellent place to view the aurora during the winter months. The Resort’s remote location also creates a perfect environment for viewing wildlife up close.

Visit the Resort’s Activity Center and enjoy the many activities and services, and prepare for your next adventure.  A variety of winter or summer activities are available depending upon the time of your visit.

The Activity Center is also home to the Shears to Chena hair salon and the Aurora Café.

Plan to tour the unique Aurora Ice Museum maintained by World Ice Art Champions, Steve and Heather Brice.  A marvel of renewable energy engineering, the facility is operational year-round using the same geothermal energy that heats and powers the Resort.

You do not have to spend the night to enjoy all the adventures of Chena Hot Springs Resort!

The Resort is a great place for day-trippers who want to come out only for the day or evening — no reservations required.  Lodging is available in cabins, yurts, and RV access and spaces are available.

There is always plenty to do and a welcoming atmosphere at Chena Hot Springs Resort.   Whether you are looking for a relaxing break from the everyday or searching for a bit of adventure, you do not want to miss the charm and beauty of Chena Hot Springs Resort.

Hot springs are nice -- but I would just come for the day. Don't stay overnight -- the rooms are dated, poor service at check in, restaurant and room.

Being very honest because I wanted to like this place, but it was the biggest disappointment of our Alaskan trip. Heres why:
Cons:
-Lots of bugs in room.
-200 dollar minimum drive there one way!! (Lyft 205, taxi 225, shuttle 65 per person)
-Dirty rooms.
-A lot of cancelled activities (all ATVs, and greenhouses closed)
-Nasty nasty locker room
-Hot springs filled with bugs and mold floating around.
-No wifi
-No cell service
-Only 1 place to eat and very understaffed
-energy plant tour guide was uninformative, and kind of a joke.
-the hot tub had brown bubbles. Not sure why, but I honestly don't want to know.
Pros:
-very cool staff
-restaurant had good food, but took 30 mins to be put on the list, then 2 hour wait to eat.
-ice museum was pretty cool (no pun intended)
Overall, I have told my fellow travelers to steer clear of this place. It was like being in a boy scout camp. The ATV activity was cancelled because the owner used the ATVs and they ran out of gas -- at least that was their story.
The price of transportation there isn't worth any of the activities. But if you like being secluded away from society and have a small step up from tent camping, then this is your place!

I wish we could get a refund.

Is not worth it at all ! From the hotel, facilities, restrooms, bathrooms, hotel room, hot springs -- everything is in ruins.
