Central Hotel Panamá was built nearly 150 years ago in the heart of Panama City, facing the beautiful Plaza de la Independencia in Casco Viejo (Old Town). It was the first hotel in the country at the time of its opening in 1874 and quickly became a meeting place for intrepid travelers.
The storied guest list has included the French builders who constructed the Panama Canal, U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt and Count Ferdinand de Lesseps. By the turn of the century, the hotel was recognized as the finest in Panama, and its reputation for high-style European and American services was known throughout the western hemisphere.
Now, in addition to luxury accommodations with a popular roof-top swimming pool, fine dining with a cocktail lounge, a complimentary breakfast included each morning, the hotel also offers a spa and beauty salon. Treat yourself to the ultimate in relaxation at the exotic day spa. Located on the third floor, the VIP treatment facilities feature lovely views of Casco Viejo. Enjoy a relaxing massage, manicure, professional makeup services and more.

Beautiful hotel in Old Town Panama City -- apparently the first hotel in the country founded in 1874. The spa services were nice. The restaurant was very good. Impressive selection of wines. Good cocktails. Great location.
Cool 19th Century Beauty. Surrounding area is safe and full of life.
