Right in the heart of the Kingdom of Oriel, the ancient Irish kingdom, Castle Leslie is steeped in history. It’s the seat of the Leslies, one of Ireland’s more interesting and unusual families who came to Ireland in the 16th Century. Ancestor John Leslie, the fighting Bishop, bought the estate with a £2,000-reward for defending Charles II against Cromwell.
Club and Equestrian Centre
Following a huge investment over the last 10 years, 2007 saw an important stage of the Castle Leslie Estate’s evolution. The Castle was transformed into a private members’ club while the Hunting Lodge re-opened with its 35 bedrooms, Brasserie, Conor’s Bar and Victorian Spa. Alongside the spa is the brand new Equestrian Centre destined to be Ireland’s Ultimate Equestrian Playground.
Spa
A visit to the Victorian Spa Treatment Rooms, based in the Lodge, will leave you feeling refreshed and revitalised. With seven treatment rooms, two Victorian steam boxes, a relaxation area and hot tubs overlooking the stables, it’s the perfect place to ease your weary muscles after taking part in one of the many activities available on the Estate. Choose this wonderful location for luxury spa holidays Ireland or even for a special romantic getaway Ireland and indulge your senses.
Cooking School
Following major restoration, the original Victorian kitchens in the Castle opened in July 2006 as the Cookery School. The learning space is a chef’s dream and houses one of the famous Molteni ovens, an unrivalled masterpiece handcrafted with the Castle and its guests in mind. One of the best known cookery schools in Ireland, it is open all year round and offers cookery courses personally designed by our expert team of chefs.
