Our Sherman Oaks spa is conveniently located on the second floor of the Sherman Oaks Galleria. Opened in January 2002, this beautiful location has been recently remodeled to reflect the comfort and grandeur of an old English country manor. Relax by the fireplace in the main lounge or enjoy the sumptuous luxury of the marble and granite that adorns the women and men’s spas. With over 25 treatment rooms, this beautiful facility is a perfect location for entertaining and includes a second private lounge available for small groups. Throughout the spa the soothing sound of water falling and the aroma of Burke Williams’ signature essential oil aroma waft through the air. Pitchers of fruit infused iced water abound throughout the spa. A quiet room provides a relaxing environment with lovely new recliners, dim light and herb tea for both before and after treatments.

Was pretty quiet for a a few months, and then got louder and louder, as more and more people came out of their homes again, and now that the movie theatres are open again -- ugh. I forgot that when laying on a massage table, you can hear the movie broadcasting from the theatre in the mall. Forgot all about that. Bring earplugs if you can't stand that kind of background noise.
I called and made an appt for a stone massage surprise birthday gift for my wife at the Sherman Oaks spa. I had a gift card which was not quite enough so I paid the balance due with a credit card. The agent told me I was set and everything was good to go. I received via email the relative documents. When the day arrived I gave my wife the gift certificate and she left for her relaxing stone massage.
When my wife was finished with her massage she was approached by one of the Sherman Oaks front desk clerks because there was a problem with the amount I had paid over the phone. She of course knew nothing about it and so they called me. Apparently there was an approx $25 overpayment on my part, because the clerk who took my telephone appt request got it wrong. So now I've overpaid. I asked them to use the overpayment $25 toward the tip that my wife would leave her masseuse, and get the cash she'd already left, back. I was told NO because that money (the cash) was swiftly and now already in a lock box which could not be opened.
I was extremely upset over this and got into an argument with the clerk. My wife was still there listening to all of this and was very upset at the whole ordeal. This totally ruined the whole spa experience for her.
We feel that we were being manipulated to use the $25 credit to return and apply it toward something to buy or something more expensive in the spa. They were not giving the mistaken charge BACK, no, they wanted it SPENT.
We have been long time customers at this spa but we will NOT be using this $25 credit or your spa services again.
We feel it is worth losing because we don’t feel your staff there have your customers best interests in mind.

I have been coming to Burke Williams for communal bath and massage for many years. Today I decided to finally write a review because of the staff's exceptional service. When I accidentally made an appointment for "men only" day, they were patient and accommodating. TIP: I am sure everyone has their favorites but I recommend getting a massage from Sekani or Gabriel.
