Golden Milk Recipe with Turmeric, Ginger, Honey and Cinnamon
Grail Springs Retreat Centre in Ontario recommends this calming and comforting Golden Milk recipe as easy way to de-stress on a chilly day or after a particularly busy day. The health benefits of turmeric (or indeed even its flavor profile) are not as familiar to most people as its distinctive color, the basis for many curry recipes. Turmeric has been used in India for thousands of years as a spice and medicinal herb, but many fear this herb will make “curry milk.” That’s not the case with this recipe at all, which is creamy, sweet, warm and soft.
Ingredients
- 1 cup coconut milk or almond milk
- ¼ teaspoon dried turmeric
- ¼ teaspoon ginger , finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- dash of black pepper
- dash of cinnamon
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients for a few seconds in a blender.
- Pour into a saucepan and warm on low heat for a few minutes.
- Heat to desired temperature and enjoy.
Hi! I’ve been following your web site for a long time now and am working my way through some recipes. This one was just in time for this cold weather, and we enjoyed this recipe for warm golden milk because we were both feeling a bit under the weather and we overindulged at thanksgiving! My wife thought this would make a great PUDDING!
