URBAN CALM

Urban Calm is a little refuge in San Diego’s East Village. The spa places an emphasis on purity and simplicity which is reflected in its organic, clean and synthetic-free products and services. The spa sources almost all of its products from small, family or female-owned businesses, and of course, all are cruelty-free.

My best facial of the year and my best massage of the year (both thanks to Brenda) and my sister’s best massage of the year as well (thank you Sonia). We returned for excellent pedicures a month later. You know you’ve found the perfect place, with the perfect team, when they even quickly dash to the curb to fill your parking meter for you, so you don’t have to damage those freshly painted toenails. This will be our go-to spot from now on.
BEST SAN DIEGO DAY SPAS
ECO CHATEAU
2831 Camino Del Rio S. #209, San Diego
Our readers love Eco Chateau, a friendly spa tucked away in an unassuming business park, offering massage, skin care, colon hydrotherapy, whole body vibration, infrared sauna, and a popular 1, 3 or 5 day detox juice cleanses and 21 day detoxification programs. The spa embraces a green and eco-friendly ethos which is carried out throughout the construction, decor, treatments, supplies and products.
The entire team really cares about guests and health and wellness, but can I just say, the place is so darn charming and cute, you just can’t help but want to return again and again. My favorite place to get over the unintended consequences of a life well-lived too often. A hidden gem.
BEST SAN DIEGO DAY SPAS
WHITE RABBIT DAY SPA
3242 Adams Avenue, San Diego, CA
Our readers raved about White Rabbit Day Spa in the Normal Heights area of San Diego, and we went off to the tea party to see what the buzz was about. Thinking we may visit a great contender for a teen’s spa party, instead we found a knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate esthetician in owner Kristina Kennett, and an excellent nail technician in Tha. What a delightful, fun, vibrant, and energizing place — with the skill and prowess backing up the fun and funky theme. We sent our Secret Spa Reviewer team for facials and manicures, and hey pronounced all services “top notch, among the best in San Diego — and definitely the most fun.”
