The Healing Arts Center & Spa is a splendid wellness destination at Cavallo Point at Fort Baker in Sausalito, nestled at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge. The spa offers everything a spa enthusiast could hope for, from beauty and esthetic services to integrative medicine with a resident physician. Stick to the basics with an expert massage or facial followed by a hydrotherapy soak in the heated outdoor meditation pool. Or, embrace a lifestyle change by consulting with holistic medical practitioners, booking a yoga retreat or one of the 3- or 5-night wellness packages which include a medical consultation, lodging, breakfast, a custom wellness plan, and spa services.
Once monthly, the Healing Arts Center’s resident integrative physician, Dr. Brad Jacobs MD, hosts a seminar designed to share wellness and lifestyle tips, with topics ranging from Chinese Medicine, Coping with Allergies, and Dietary Challenges. The seminars are complimentary and refreshments are served because this Medical Spa really takes care of its own community.
Make time for a visit to the Spa’s Tea Bar, open daily. The Healing Arts Center itself is soothing space to unwind and relax, but the Tea Bar makes for a terrific ‘wind down’ to the day, offering a variety of healthy tonics and teas. When the weather is splendid, take your tea outside to a beautiful garden next to a meditation pool.

Casa Madrona is a boutique hotel built into the hillside and overlooking San Francisco Bay, in Sausalito. It is a wonderful wedding venue and has spectacular luxury suite for special events. Many of the getaway packages include a spa credit, but day guests are welcome in the hotel’s spa, which offers body wraps and scrubs, skin care, nail care, massage, and more. Before or after services, store your attire in the provided locker, don a spa robe, and enjoy the relaxation quiet lounge with complimentary refreshments.
A great location, terrific view, relaxing spa services, great pedicures, and within walking distance to Sausalito’s cafes and shops. We enjoyed the Sip, Spa and Savor package, which included an express pedicure, a light lunch, and a glass of wine (or dessert). Makes for a fantastic spa day.

The Beauty Nook in San Rafael is a neighborhood boutique specializing in skin care, waxing, and lash enhancements. This tidy location is calm and professional, with a cracker jack team of estheticians who specialize in your face — caring for your skin, shaping your brows, and plumping up your lashes — and taming body hair. They groom what you need and remove what you don’t, expertly.
This is now my go-to spot for anything relating to hair removal. Expert waxing and brow grooming and the facial was top notch. They keep me looking my best and make the experience very comfortable with excellent customer service and a welcoming demeanor.

Natara was rated as the Best Massage Spa in Marin County by our readers, who also remarked on the perks of membership (every 10th massage is complimentary), the engaged staff who take care to learn exactly what you need before and throughout the service, the quiet ambiance and serenity, and the graciousness of the owners, who welcome you with tea.
This isn’t the type of spa that will secret you away in a closed room, so do be prepared for a community atmosphere with massage areas in the traditional Thai style, discretely divided by draperies and partitions, but I really appreciate the decor, calm atmosphere and consistently top-notch massage.

Her service menu includes everything from sexual health to clinical skin care to teeth-whitening.
First, this medical spa is spotlessly clean. I admit if I look up at the ceiling while on a treatment table and see ANY cobwebs, I know there is no attention to detail. This is the first spa I’ve been where I couldn’t find a single one — and I LOOK (I consider it part of my Review Duties actually). All of the equipment is modern, up to date, clean and well-maintained. I enjoyed my services with team member Hilary, who was professional and friendly, very informative and helpful, and ultimately — gave me exactly the result I wanted.
