Ecuador has three main geographic regions, plus an insular region in the Pacific Ocean:   La Costa, or the coast, comprises the low-lying land in the western part of the country, including the Pacific coastline;  La Sierra ("the highlands") is the high-altitude belt running north to south along the center of the country, its mountainous terrain dominated by the Andes mountain range;  El Oriente ("the east") comprises the Amazon rainforest areas in the eastern part of the country, accounting for just under half of the country's total surface area, though populated by under 5 percent of the population; and the Región Insular, the region comprising the Galápagos Islands, some 1,000 kilometers (620 mi) west of the mainland in the Pacific Ocean.

IBARRA (IMBABURA)
Ibarra is a town in northern Ecuador and the capital of the Imbabura province. It lies at the foot of the Imbabura volcano and on the left bank of the Tahuando river. It is about 45 miles northeast of Ecuador's capital Quito

Hotel Resort & Spa Vista del Mundo is located in a sacred valley high in the Ecuadorian Andes at 8,200 feet above sea level. The valley lies between two volcanic peaks: Imbabura, the Father Mountain, and Cotacachi, the Mother Mountain, both 16,000 feet high. Magnificent views of the mountains can be seen from almost every window of the resort.   Vista del Mundo offers guests a truly extraordinary vacation that combines sight-seeing, ecological excursions, shopping, wonderful cuisine, and the facilities of a state-of-the-art European-style spa. The Vista de Mundo spa operates under the direction of a medical doctor who offers guests an evaluation and health analysis upon arrival, where then personalized exercise and diet is designed for the guests. The many spa treatments include flower-oil treatments, herbal wraps, mud and ozone treatments, and a variety of beauty and skin-care therapies.   The spa's facilities include an electronic cave, a sauna with eucalyptus vapor, indoor and outdoor massage areas, an indoor pool with aqua gym equipment and aerobics studio, and a fitness center. Yoga, tai chi, and the Zen garden provides tranquility for meditation and complete relaxation.

BANOS (TUNGURAHUA)
Baños is a city in eastern Tungurahua Province, in central Ecuador. Baños is the second most populous city in Tungurahua, after Ambato, the capital, and a major touristic center. It is known as the "Gateway to the Amazon," as it is located on the Pastaza River in the Amazon River basin.

Luna Runtun Spa uses fresh and natural medicinal plants, fruits, and vegetables produced in our 63-acre garden for their natural healing properties as well as using ASHES AND VOLCANIC STONES from the active Volcano Tungurahua.  After the treatments, relax and oxygenate your brain and lungs in our gorgeous gardens full of fresh air coming from the Amazon Rainforest, the world's respiratory system, and delight in the sights and sounds of the plethora of birds and butterflies that inhabit Luna Runtun. Walk barefoot in the fertile earth of our gardens. Plant a tree and name it! Finally, enjoy the sunrise while doing breathing exercises while taking in outstanding and unforgettable views.
