Chez Shea Inn and Spa – Prince Edward Island

Located in Kinkora, Prince Edward Island, Chez Shea Inn and Spa offers a wonderful three-acre setting for quiet visits and eight warmly decorated guest rooms, all with their own private four piece ensuite baths.  We are the perfect venue for weddings and other private events. We are an easy drive from the Confederation Bridge (10 minutes), airport (30 minutes) and major attractions such as Cavendish, Anne of Green Gables, and Victoria by the Sea and is central to a number of major Island golf courses.

Spa 225

The Inn’s luxurious Spa 225, which offers the Seaflora range of products and therapies, has three treatment suites, two pre- and post-treatment relaxation rooms, a tea station and lounge area. Spa 225 offers a full service day spa menu  in addition to destination services.

Our History

Chez Shea is a tastefully decorated Bed and Breakfast Inn. A grand old home built in 1921 by M. J. McIvor – a successful Island farmer who was a pioneer in the potato industry. The home was considered the “community hall” where during its day most community celebrations occurred – specifically weddings and related celebrations.

McIvor’s status came undone during the depression of the 1930’s.The home was sold to the Sisters of St. Martha’s who converted it into St. Stanislaus Convent in 1935.

The Sisters ran a boarding school for ladies who attended the first rural high school on the Island. The historic room now serves as our morning room.

The convent was dissolved in 1993 and the facility was used as a ‘room and board’ for the men who built the Confederation Bridge. Still today, the Inn is fondly referred to as “The Convent” by locals.
