Thank you for your interest. We're happy to assist you in sharing information about your Spa, Spa Product, or Service with our visitors. First, a few words about Spa Index Media.

As a spa service provider, you're already familiar with the select few mainstream spa-themed publications and web sites you see mass advertised and marketed, which feature in nearly every issue only a select number of spas (the premium advertisers). At Spa Index, our purpose is the introduction of our visitors and your guests to all spa providers, from day spas to resorts spas to destination spas, in all geographic and income ranges.

The explosive growth of the spa industry and accessibility of day spas and destination spas has guests putting down the glossy magazines featuring seemingly out-of-reach luxury vacations and coming online to websites likes ours to search for information and resources in planning spa travel which meets their specific needs.  In fact, an overwhelming majority of leisure travel guests now use the Internet to make all their decisions from planning to booking their travel.

Spa Index offers our visitors, and your guests, a friendly, informative, and easy to use tool which permits them to do just that - browse spas from the convenience of their own home without the pressure of travel agencies or booking agents, gather input from other readers and our recommendations, decide on a spa destination, and plan their spa travel.

In fact, unlike some of our competitors, we are not a travel booking agency operating under the misnomer of a spa guide.  We don't sell products, magazines, or gift certificates, and thus, are free to profile as many spas and spa products as we wish -- for both members and even non members -- for the benefit of our readers.

And, unlike other competitors, who compile lists of spas from virtually any source (if it has the word 'spa' in the business name, it's likely on these catch-all sites), without regard to chambers of commerce, community or reader input, and in many cases, without even checking the URL link for the spa business to see that it isn't linking to a day spa.  For instance, one of our competitors has on its site -- much to our amusement -- one 'gentleman's massage parlor' well known in our metro area, and, at least one business which sells outdoor hot tubs and pool and cleaning supplies.   But hey ... they do have the word "spa" in their business name.

Spa Index Media, on the other hand, operates a true GUIDE TO SPAS.

We only sell service to our members, and we give our expertise and recommendations to our readers. We don't collect commissions. We don't charge booking fees. We don't have a gift certificate store.  We collect one annual listing fee, and, for that fee, we put forth the efforts of our entire team and our extensive resources, to market your spa.

Our low cost listings target our daily visitors and your spa-ready guests on a recurring and interactive basis - not just a silent (and costly) ad in a single issue of a magazine which has a focus other than the spa experience. In fact, the cost to list with Spa Index is so low, that ONE empty bed on ONE night in a spa resort, and TWO HOURS of treatments at a Day Spa, will pay for more than a year of listings at Spa Index.  Those low rates, coupled with the fact we never charge or collect commissions on spa referrals, or require that you accept and process our gift certificates (we help you sell YOUR gift certificates -- not ours!) should make the decision to join our Spa Community an easy one.

Our visitors and your guests have visited Spa Index because they are already prepared to arrange their leisure travel needs. They are receptive to any type of information, from press-related specials, enhanced Spa Index listings with interactive links and photographs, opt - in email messages, and gift certificate premiums.

From its inception in 1999, Spa Index set out to be the most comprehensive non-booking Spa Directory on the Internet, focusing solely on directory services for ALL Day Spa and Stay Spa services.  Now, Spa Index enjoys a favorable reputation in the Spa Industry not only for its comprehensive directory services, but its efforts to educate, entertain, and enlighten the Spa Community, visitors and providers alike, with Spa Treatment Education, Spa Reviews, Spa Articles, and Spa Industry Resources.  In short, we have become much more than a "Spa Directory."  We are the Internet's best "Spa Community" as evidenced by:

  • Spa Index is highly rated as a spa guide and directory on GOOGLE.

  • Spa Index is listed on more than 300 Search Engines

  • Spa Index is one of the top ten "Most Popular Spa Travel sites" for YaHoo!

  • Spa Index is the second most popular spa directory on the web, according to Alexa

  • Spa Index is a member of and featured as "Spa Search Engine" for The Spa Association, a group of more than 1,500 spa facility members founded by a top consultant in the Spa Industry

  • Spa Index is a member of the International Spa Association (ISPA)

In that regard, Spa Index enjoys steady growth. When compared to the mainstream spa magazines which have, on average, approximately 45,000 paid bimonthly non interactive readers each year, the traffic to Spa Index has exceeded both those statistics and our own expectations several times over, thanks to our wonderful subscribing spa facilities, our loyal readers, and our contributors.

As a result, in 2003, Spa Index Media launched SpaWire.com, an already popular spa industry news digest, bringing news, trends, product spotlights and vendor services.  SpaWire hosts a job board and forum, profiles training resources, and showcases many other unique resources of interest to the spa and salon professional.

In 2005, Spa Index Media continued to grow and added SpaFlyer.com, a blog for spa enthusiasts. The blog takes advantage of the popular "bloggers community" whereby our members' specials, coupons, contests, events, and just plain fun information, can be posted to a fast-moving blog which is then downloaded, via an RSS newsfeed, to millions of webpages subscribing to the feed, all over the world.  What does that mean, exactly?  It means our posts show up on our readers' websites, without waiting for them to come to ours. Do we still get visitors?  You bet!  The RSS feed links them in droves back to our monthly spa cuisine recipes or the newest day spa coupons, and they stick around and read about your specials, and more.  Just as we intended.

In fact, our members report posting a New Client Coupon on the blog and having new guests at their door in the first week (see below, for a link to our testimonials).

Continue to watch each page on Spa Index evolve with more listings added weekly; watch for a "fresh look" in 2006, and watch for us in the print and news media -- Spa Index is proud to be the Internet's most comprehensive spa guide.

Now that you've read what Spa Index offers your guests, please share with us what your spa offers to our visitors.  Let us help you showcase your unique spa destination!
